These are my current favourite measuring device for skirmish type games. I use the four movement increments: Long, Medium, Short and Very Short. For long, I use the full length of the stick. For medium I use the lower part of the stick. For short and very short I use the "knuckles" of the handgrip: four knuckles for short, and two for very short. I usually include the half-knuckle on the end as well, for ease of measuring. Sometimes I count the half-knuckle when determining the short and very short lengths; it just depends what I need for the game.
Of course, the overall length of the chopsticks is only 9" or so, so the distances will vary from those in some rules but I don't mind that.
For long range shooting I usually give a -1 modifier per full chopstick length after the first.
